How to Use Asmaco Instant Grab – Step by Step

Step 1 – Prepare the surface: Remove dust, loose particles, grease and old adhesive. Surfaces can be dry or wet — no need to dry the area or drain water for leak repairs.

Step 2 – Cut the cartridge: Cut the cartridge tip above the thread, screw on the nozzle, and cut the nozzle at 45° to your desired bead size. Load into a standard caulking gun (also available at Shabbiri Hardware).

Step 3 – Apply the adhesive: For bonding, apply beads or blobs in vertical strips about 10–15 cm apart on the back of the item. For sealing, run a continuous bead along the joint or crack.

Step 4 – Press and position: Press the item firmly into place. The instant grab holds it immediately — no nails, props or masking tape needed. Adjust alignment within the first few minutes.

Step 5 – Tool the joint (sealing): For sealant joints, smooth the bead with a spatula or soapy finger within 5–10 minutes for a neat finish.

Step 6 – Let it cure: Allow 24–48 hours to cure. Avoid heavy loading for 7 days until maximum strength is reached. Paint over once fully cured if desired.

Fundi Tip: For heavy items like granite or large mirrors, apply adhesive over at least 60–70% of the contact area and press with a sliding motion to spread the adhesive and remove air pockets. One 280ml cartridge covers roughly 3–4 running metres at a 10mm bead.
