AKFIX Clean+ Cream Cleaner 500g is a professional-grade, micro-abrasive cleaning cream formulated to lift stubborn grease, burnt-on food residue, soap scum, limescale, rust marks, tea and coffee stains, and everyday dirt from hard surfaces around the kitchen and bathroom — without scratching or dulling the finish. Supplied in a convenient 500 g flip-top bottle, this thick white cream clings to vertical and sloping surfaces instead of running off, so the active ingredients stay exactly where the dirt is.

Shabbiri Hardware stocks AKFIX Clean+ Cream Cleaner 500g at both our Magadi Road, Ongata Rongai and Tuala (past Nazarene University) branches, with genuine, factory-sealed stock, competitive trade and retail pricing, and bulk-carton discounts for institutions, cleaning companies, hotels and property managers.

6. HOW TO USE — STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Before You Start

  1. Read the label on the bottle and observe all safety warnings.
  2. Wear household rubber gloves. Prolonged skin contact with an alkaline cleaner can cause dryness or irritation.
  3. Ensure good ventilation — open a window or run the extractor fan when cleaning enclosed spaces.
  4. Always patch test first. Apply a small amount to a hidden corner of the surface, wait 2 minutes, rinse and inspect before treating the whole area. This is essential on any coated, printed, glossy or unfamiliar surface.
  5. Remove loose debris — sweep away crumbs, food particles and grit so the abrasive isn't dragging hard fragments across the finish.

Standard Cleaning Method

  1. Shake the bottle well before each use to re-disperse the abrasive particles evenly through the cream.
  2. Open the flip-top cap and squeeze a small amount — roughly a 5 cent-coin size or 5–10 ml — directly onto a damp sponge or non-scratch pad. Alternatively apply directly onto the wetted surface.
  3. Spread evenly over the soiled area using light, overlapping circular strokes. Do not tackle more than about 1 m² at a time so the cream doesn't dry out.
  4. Allow to dwell for 1–5 minutes. Do not let it dry on the surface. For heavy burnt-on grease or thick limescale, leave up to 10 minutes and keep the area slightly damp.
  5. Work the cream with moderate pressure using the sponge, a nylon brush for grouting and crevices, or a non-scratch pad for stainless steel. On brushed stainless steel, always rub in the direction of the grain, never across it or in circles.
  6. Rinse thoroughly with plenty of clean water until all cream residue and loosened soil is removed. Residue left behind will dry to a white chalky film.
  7. Dry and buff with a clean, dry microfibre or soft cotton cloth to bring up a streak-free shine and prevent water spotting.
  8. Close the cap firmly and store the bottle upright.

Application by Surface

Stainless Steel Sinks & Splashbacks  Wet the sink, apply cream, work along the grain with a soft sponge, leave 2 minutes, rinse and buff dry. Repeat on stubborn tea, coffee or rust-transfer marks.

Gas Cookers, Hobs & Burner Caps  Ensure the appliance is switched off, gas isolated and completely cool. Remove pan supports and burner caps and soak them in hot water first. Apply cream, dwell 5–10 minutes on baked-on grease, agitate with a nylon brush, rinse fully and dry completely before refitting. Never allow cream or water to enter burner jets or ignition electrodes.

Extractor Hoods & Grease Filters  Apply neat to the greasy surface, dwell 5 minutes, wipe with a damp cloth, rinse and dry. Metal mesh filters can be scrubbed with a brush and rinsed under a hot tap.

Bathroom — Baths, Basins, Tiles & Shower Screens  Wet the surface, apply cream, dwell 3–5 minutes to soften soap scum and limescale, work with a sponge or grout brush, rinse thoroughly and squeegee or towel dry.

Chrome Taps & Showerheads  Use sparingly on a soft cloth only — never a scouring pad. Wipe on, dwell 1–2 minutes, rinse and polish dry immediately to protect the plating.

Toilets & WC Pans  Apply around the bowl and under the rim, dwell 5 minutes, scrub with a toilet brush and flush. Do not mix with bleach or any acidic descaler.

Worktops, Laminates & White Goods  Apply on a damp cloth, wipe over, rinse with a clean damp cloth and dry. Avoid the edges and seams of laminate to prevent moisture ingress.

Outdoor Plastic Furniture & Window Sills  Apply, agitate with a soft brush, dwell 5 minutes and hose off.

SAFETY, HANDLING & STORAGE

  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Avoid contact with eyes. If in eyes: rinse cautiously with clean water for several minutes, remove contact lenses if present and easy to do, continue rinsing, and seek medical attention if irritation persists.
  • Skin contact: wash with soap and water. Wear gloves for extended cleaning sessions; the alkaline pH can degrease and dry the skin.
  • If swallowed: do not induce vomiting. Rinse the mouth, drink a glass of water or milk and seek medical advice immediately, showing the product label.
  • Never mix with bleach (sodium hypochlorite), ammonia, acidic descalers or any other cleaning chemical. Mixing cleaning products can release hazardous gases.
  • Do not decant into unlabelled bottles or food/drink containers.
  • Do not use on hot surfaces. Allow cookers, ovens and hobs to cool completely first.
  • Store upright, tightly closed, between +5 °C and +35 °C, away from frost, direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Do not reuse the empty container. Rinse and dispose of it in accordance with local waste regulations. Do not empty large quantities into drains or watercourses.
  • A Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is available on request for commercial, institutional and tender customers — ask our counter team.

 FAQs

Q: What is the price of AKFIX Clean+ Cream Cleaner 500g in Kenya? A: Pricing varies with stock and order quantity. Call or WhatsApp Shabbiri Hardware on 0741 042484 or 0745 554008, or email info@shabbirihardware.co.ke, for today's retail and bulk trade price. Carton discounts are available.

Q: Will AKFIX cream cleaner scratch my stainless steel sink? A: No, when used as directed. The abrasive is ultra-fine calcium carbonate designed for non-scratch cleaning. Use a soft sponge or non-scratch pad, rub along the grain of the steel, and avoid steel wool or hard scourers.

Q: Can I use it on marble or granite worktops? A: No. Do not use it on marble, granite or any natural stone. The mild alkalinity and abrasive can dull polished stone. Use a dedicated pH-neutral stone cleaner instead.

Q: Does it remove limescale from taps and showerheads? A: Yes. It removes light to moderate limescale and hard-water deposits. For very heavy, long-standing scale, extend the dwell time to 10 minutes or repeat the application. Use sparingly on plated fittings and always rinse and dry immediately.

Q: Is it safe for septic tanks and soak pits? A: Yes. The surfactant system is readily biodegradable and the product is phosphate-free, making it suitable for normal domestic drainage and septic systems when used at recommended doses.

Q: How much area does one 500 g bottle cover? A: Roughly 15–25 m² of lightly soiled surface, or 8–12 m² of heavily soiled surface. Typical households find one bottle lasts several weeks of regular kitchen and bathroom cleaning.

Q: Can I use it inside my oven? A: It can be used on the oven door glass and the exterior. For heavily carbonised interiors, a dedicated oven cleaner works faster. Always ensure the oven is completely cool and never apply to heating elements.

Q: Is AKFIX Clean+ Cream Cleaner an aerosol? A: No. It is a non-pressurised cream supplied in a 500 g squeeze bottle with a flip-top cap. It contains no propellant and is non-flammable. It is listed under our Aerosols & Cleaning Chemicals category for convenience.

Q: What is the shelf life? A: Approximately 24 months from manufacture in the unopened original bottle, stored between +5 °C and +35 °C away from frost and direct sunlight.

Q: Do you deliver outside Ongata Rongai? A: Yes. We deliver across Nairobi and countrywide through courier and parcel services. Call 0741 042484 to arrange delivery.

Q: Do you supply in bulk for hotels and cleaning companies? A: Yes. We supply cartons and pallet quantities to hotels, restaurants, schools, hospitals, offices and cleaning contractors at trade rates. Email info@shabbirihardware.co.ke for a quotation.
