How to Use the RILAND MMA 220-JT

1. Set up safely: Place on a dry, ventilated surface. Wear your welding mask, gloves and protective clothing. Keep flammables away.
2. Connect the cables: Fit the electrode holder and earth clamp to the + / – terminals. For E6013 rods use earth on + / electrode on –; for E7018 use electrode on +. Clamp the earth to clean bare metal.
3. Load & set current: Insert the electrode, power on (220–240 V), and dial the amps: 2.5 mm → ~70–110 A, 3.2 mm → ~110–150 A, 4.0 mm → ~150–200 A.
4. Strike & weld: Scratch/tap to strike the arc, hold a 2–3 mm arc at a 10–20° drag angle and move steadily along the joint.
5. Finish & clean: Switch off, let it cool, chip the slag and clean the bead with the steel brush. Respect the duty cycle on heavy 4.0 mm rods.
