What Is This Product Used For?

DLC PU Foam 750ml is a fill – seal – bond – insulate product used across building, plumbing, electrical and general finishing work. Typical applications include:

• Installing and sealing door and window frames (fixing frames in place and filling the perimeter gap in one step)
• Filling gaps, joints, cracks and cavities in walls, floors, ceilings and roofs
• Thermal and acoustic insulation — reducing heat loss, draughts and noise transmission
• Sealing around pipe, cable, conduit and duct penetrations through walls and slabs
• Bonding insulation boards, panels and thresholds to substrates
• Filling voids around electrical boxes, plumbing fixtures and HVAC openings
• Weatherproofing and moisture sealing of joints and openings
• General draught-proofing and soundproofing in homes, offices and industrial buildings

Because it expands to fill irregular shapes and bonds to most surfaces, it is especially useful where a rigid, permanent, insulating seal is required and where a mechanical fastener or standard sealant would not perform.

How Does This Product Work ?

1. Prepare the surface – Clean the joint or cavity of dust, loose particles, oil and grease. The foam adheres best to slightly damp surfaces, so lightly mist the area with clean water using a spray bottle.
2. Prepare the can – Shake the can vigorously for 20–30 seconds to mix the contents thoroughly. Remove the cap and fit the applicator straw/nozzle onto the valve.
3. Apply – Hold the can upside down (valve pointing down) so the propellant feeds correctly. Press the trigger gently and fill the gap only about 40–50% full, as the foam will expand to 2–3 times its dispensed volume. Work from the bottom of vertical joints upward.
4. Let it expand and cure – The foam becomes tack-free in a few minutes and cures completely in roughly 60 minutes (curing time increases with larger bead sizes, lower temperatures and low humidity). For deep gaps, apply in layers, misting lightly with water between coats.
5. Trim and finish – Once fully cured, cut away excess foam with a sharp knife or saw. The surface can then be plastered, sealed, sanded and painted. Protect cured foam from prolonged UV/sunlight with paint, sealant or trim, as UV degrades exposed foam over time.
6. Clean up – Remove uncured/fresh foam with acetone or PU foam cleaner. Cured foam can only be removed mechanically (cut/scrape). Keep the nozzle clean between uses.
