How to Use the Akfix AKT 350 Silicone Gun
Release the push rod. Press the release lever at the back of the gun and pull the steel rod fully backwards using the rear thumb plate.
Load the cartridge. Drop the 310ml sealant cartridge into the skeleton frame, nozzle end first through the front ring, and seat the base against the pressure plate.
Cut the nozzle. Cut the cartridge nozzle at a 45° angle to a width slightly smaller than the joint you are sealing. Pierce the inner foil seal if required.
Prime the gun. Squeeze the trigger a few times until the rod contacts the cartridge base and sealant just reaches the nozzle tip.
Apply the bead. Hold the gun at roughly 45° to the joint and squeeze the trigger with slow, steady pressure while moving at a constant speed along the joint. Rotate the frame as needed for corners.
Stop cleanly. Release the trigger — the drip-free mechanism instantly cuts pressure. For long pauses, press the rear release lever to fully relieve rod pressure.
Tool the joint. Smooth the bead within the sealant's skinning time (usually 5–10 minutes) using a finishing tool or soapy finger for a professional finish.
Unload & store. Pull the rod back, remove the cartridge, cap the nozzle for reuse, and hang the gun by its hook away from dust and moisture.
Maintenance Tips
Wipe any cured sealant off the frame and rod with a blade or Akfix silicone remover — never let PU adhesive cure on the ratchet mechanism.
